Introduction to Oracle Solaris 11 Networking Oracle Solaris 11.1 Information Library |
This book introduces networking concepts as implemented in Oracle Solaris 11. It describes profile-managed networking configuration, where the manner of network configuration depends on the type of profile that is activated on the system. The book also describes the network stack as it is implemented in Oracle Solaris 11, where the hardware and network layers are decoupled. Consequently, new features, such as use of customized names for datalinks and IP interfaces are supported, and configuration of link and interface properties are performed uniformly by using new administrative tools.
